The Volvo air conditioning system is an important system in the car especially, while driving in absolutely extreme humid conditions. The Volvo air conditioning mechanism has three main parts to the system. They are the compressor, the evaporator and the condenser. Each component has its own special role to perform without which the air conditioning system won’t work. A refrigerant gas is constantly flowing through the components of the air conditioning system.
The compressor is responsible for drawing the refrigerant gas from the evaporator. The Volvo air conditioning compressor is a pump mounted on the front of the engine. It is needed to pressurize and circulate the refrigerant in the air conditioning system. In the evaporator the refrigerant gas absorbs the heat coming from the car’s cabin. The refrigerant gas before being transferred to the condenser is compressed causing a rise in its temperature.
It is in the Volvo air conditioning condenser that the actual dissipation of heat occurs. The condenser is similar to the radiator located directly behind the grille and is used to liquefy the high-pressure vapor which is discharged from the compressor. It is made up of a series of tubes enclosed by thin fins, which help to provide a large surface area for the dissipation of heat. The heat released by the compressed gas in the condenser causes the condenser to become very hot. The air conditioning condenser absorbs the heat from the refrigerant before transferring it the forced air. When the refrigerant gets cooled and becomes liquid, it goes to the expansion valve and back to the evaporator to absorb the heat once again from the car’s interior.
The Volvo air conditioning evaporator is very much like the condenser-a heat exchanger consisting of tubes and fins. However, its function is different from that of the condenser. While the condenser is designed to release large quantities of heat, the evaporator is used to absorb large quantities of heat. The evaporator is located in the air handling case along with the blower.
The Volvo air conditioning expansion valve varies refrigerant flow based on cooling demand. With an increase in demand, the valve opens wider to allow more refrigerant into the evaporator. The demand being satisfied, the valve opening is reduced to decrease flow. A sensing bulb mounted near the evaporator monitors the cooling demand.
At Autopartsfair the entire range of Volvo air conditioning systems has been tested with state of the art equipments to ensure reliability. We provide the best value you can get for Volvo air conditioning systems and its components.
