The Chrysler air conditioning system is basically composed of a compressor, an expansion valve, an evaporator, a condenser and the different subparts crucial in circulating the hot and cold air throughout the air conditioning system. The Chrysler air conditioning condenser is one of the most important parts of the air conditioning system.
The Chrysler air conditioning condenser is in charge of dispelling the heat absorbed by the refrigerant and converting it back to cool liquid. Along the process, all of the heat absorbed by the refrigerant is freed by the condenser. And the refrigerant is once again transformed into a cool liquid, which will again flow through the interiors to absorb more heat. A condenser is made up of a series of tubes surrounded by thin fins. These fins provide a large surface area for the dispensing of heat.
The air conditioning compressor has a structure very similar to that of the radiator and takes the form of a coil. Situated in front of the radiator, it is cooled partly by the radiator or engine fan and partly by its own condenser fan. The compressor is actually a pump which is responsible for pressurizing and circulating the refrigerant in the air conditioning system. It can be driven by its own individual belt or in some cases by the serpentine drive belt. What the compressor also does is act as a junction which separates the high and low sides of the air conditioning system.
Metering devices are responsible for regulating the flow of liquid refrigerant into the evaporator. Not only that, they too, act as one of the junctions between the high and low sides of the system. The Chrysler variable metering device known as the expansion valve varies refrigerant flow based on the cooling demand. When the demand increases, the valve opens wider. This allows it permit more refrigerant into the evaporator. The valve opening gets reduced to decrease flow when the demand has been satisfied. A sensing bulb mounted near the evaporator monitors the cooling demand.
